BACH's new trauma workshop series is designed for social workers, LPCs, and other mental health professionals. The series (via Zoom) has been developed to support healing, resilience, and community. The series begins on November 1st with Part 1, “Church Hurt: A Clinically Therapeutic Conversation about Religious Trauma.” Part 1 will be approximately two and a half hours long and is pending approval for Social Work and LPC CEUs.
Throughout these workshops, participants will engage in compassionate dialogue, evidence-based practices, and peer-centered learning. Whether you’re a survivor, advocate, practitioner, or simply seeking tools for personal growth, this series offers a space to explore the effects of trauma and pathways toward healing and restoration.
Lastly, the series will focus on themes with broad community and public health implications. Yet, it will also intentionally highlight the intersections of HIV/AIDS (and other chronic conditions), LGBTQ health, and trauma. Each workshop will ensure these populations and issues remain central to the conversation, rather than peripheral. Additionally, the importance of medication as a tool for healing and wellness, when appropriate, will be emphasized throughout the series. This approach ensures the workshops are both inclusive and clinically grounded.
Each workshop is 10:00 - 12:30 PM:
Some of the panelists:
A Doctor of Health Science with 20-plus years of public health experience; a board-certified public health practitioner (National Board of Public Health Examiners) and an ACE Practitioner/Certified Trainer; he is public health faculty at Xavier University (Louisiana) and has an extensive understanding of trauma, specific to community and population health (e.g., public health).
A Doctor of Social Work with over 25 years of experience in public and behavioral health, he is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor, ACE Practitioner/Certified Trainer, and has trauma expertise specific to behavioral health. He is the clinical director and owner of BACH Therapeutic Counseling Services (BACHTCS).
A doctoral candidate in Social Work at the University of Kentucky, a former police officer and pastor, his doctoral thesis focuses on religious trauma. He's a licensed behavioral health practitioner (e.g., LMSW) at BACHTCS. He is also studying reglious trauma at the Global Center for Religious Research.
